Node Type template assignment

Templates are applied to Dataflow documents by assigning a template to each Node Type. This is configured using the Node Type Template Assignment editor.

The set of defined Node Types is fixed and cannot be modified within Planning Space, however the template assignments can be edited at any time.

To open the editor, click the Node Types button in the Templates tab on the ribbon. For example:

The Node Types that you see may be very different to this example, because they are designed especially for each company.

The Node Types are labelled in red. Each one has an assigned template, shown in blue. To modify this, double-click a blue template name, and a drop down selector will appear:

Change the assigned templates as required, and click OK to finish.

Changing the assignment does not affect any existing document, only for new documents. The different template will come into effect for an existing document when the Node Type of a hierarchy node is changed.
